Over the last few years since I started posting information regarding vintage hand planes and tools, I've faced up to the fact that I really like these old rusty bits of metal, and can comfortably say I'm a vintage tool collector. What started out as just picking up a few hand planes to help with specific projects has turned in to a search to acquire the complete selection of Stanley tools of a particular model or date range. Sure, I only need one No. With many of these vintage tools available for just a few dollars, collecting them turns out to be fairly inexpensive when compared to buying new, quality hand tools.
